My name is Benjamin Hoffman and I am currently a Senior Dual Art Education Major as well as Fine Arts Major with a concentration in Painting at Kutztown University. In addition, I am also a Dual Minor in Art History and Music with a concentration in tuba. Amongst the realm of my degrees, I foresee myself not only as becoming a successful artist, but also an inspirational educator in the field of Art.
In my spare time aside from the production and teachings of Art, I am a member of NAEA; the National Art Education Association, as well as numerous nationally recognized groups. Of those is Hillel, a foundation for a Jewish campus life, the Honors Program, Kappa Delta Pi; the international honor society in the field of education as well as President of Kappa Kappa Psi, a National Honorary Service Band Fraternity. Aside from art, is my passion for music of which I am currently the principle tuba player in several groups within the University.
Outside of the University, I serve as a volunteer firefighter at Kutztown Fire Department where I have dedicated both my time and service to serve and protect the surrounding community. In addition, I continue to find myself helping out anyone who is in need of help and giving back to the community through means of service.
Looking ahead for what is to come, my goals are to not only educate individuals in the field of Art History, but to find a way to bridge the two subjects more harmoniously. Today’s art world seems to be split amongst production based works versus the more, historical approach. In addition to this idea, I hope to learn more hands on experiences that are to assist me in my future endeavors in the field of art regardless of the path in which I am led to take.
